Our Story

G'day! I'm Matthew, and this is the story of how love, culture, and a passion for wellness came together to create Oz Kinect.

I was born in South Africa but came to Australia as a young child. This beautiful country raised me, shaped me, and became my home. As a chef, I've always believed in the power of quality ingredients and authentic experiences—values that now guide everything we do here.

A Chance Meeting in Margaret River

In 2019, my life changed forever when I met Mina in the stunning wine region of Margaret River, Western Australia. She was on a working holiday from Korea, and from the moment we met, I knew she was special. We fell in love surrounded by vineyards and ocean breezes, and our journey together has been nothing short of magical.

Since then, we've traveled to Korea many times together, and each visit has deepened my appreciation for Korean culture. From the bustling energy of Seoul to the peaceful countryside, from incredible cuisine to the world-renowned beauty and wellness products—I fell in love with Korea just as much as I fell in love with Mina.

Bridging Two Hearts, Two Cultures

Living in Australia, Mina often missed the Korean products she grew up with—those special skincare essentials, haircare treatments, and everyday items that just aren't quite the same anywhere else. I realized she wasn't alone. So many Australians and Koreans living here were searching for authentic Korean products but struggling to find them locally.

That's when Oz Kinect was born—out of love, out of a desire to honor my wife, and out of a genuine wish to help others feel at home, no matter where they are.
